I uninstalled mtc 1.0 and tried to install 1.1. However, the installer is hanging while creating database tables. The mtc mysql service is failing to start correctly, and stops even if I restart the service.

Any pointers? Did not face this problem when I installed 1.0 the first time.

Btw, I am using 32-bit Windows Vista.

Thanks.

Jeet,

Please uninstall MTS 1.1, reboot your system and reinstall MTS 1.1. If you run into the same hanging problem, please run "<METC install dir>:\tools\log_collector.bat" and email "marketcelera-logs-timestamp" directory (zip the directory first) to help@marketcetera.com with your Marketcetera username.

I am also facing the same problem. I have emailed the folder to the address given above but the folder contains no log files cause the installer itself has not successfully run.

Is there a way I can install my own mysql and connect Metc to that? I am guessing running the scripts in <METC_HOME>/sql ought to create all the tables. Where do I change the database settings for metc?

I tried that - rebooted the machine, even manually deleted all marketcetera entries from the registry.

Now I am getting this error when I try to install Metc1.1 -

"An existing Marketcetera MySQL Server 5.0 instance has been detected. Marketcetera requires it's own instance of MySQL Server.

Please install on a machine without a Marketcetera MySQL Server instance or install individual Marketcetera components separately on this machine."

What does this mean ? I may have other software having their own instance of MySQL or MySQL libraries. What is the solution or workaround to this problem?

Thanks.

Dear Abhi and Jeet,

We have updated a KB article on using your own MySQL with Marketcetera Platform. Please give it a try and let us know if you have any questions or run into any issues:

Finally managed to connect to the MySQL database. The firewall had to be configured to allow the given port for MySQL.

And btw, thanks for the document. I was able to create the tables for the marketcetera database.

Thanks.
